Project Director
Immediately following her controllership (2013/14) Alicja leads the GUST 50 Project. She has taken on many challenging jobs during her four (plus one watching from abroad in Barcelona) years in GUST, so we are sure she will master this one too.
Deputy Project Director
Martin graduated from Glasgow University in Film & Television Studies. A whizz when it comes to producing cinema quality content, his music video, A Musical GUSTravaganza, won GUST the National Student Television Award for Best Video to Music in 2013. He currently works as a freelance videographer and editor.
Deputy Project Director
Sarah is the incoming GUST controller for our 50th year, one of the youngest GUSTies to take on the position. Last year, as Arts producer, she built the Culture Shock brand from scratch and blew everyone away with her organisation and preparation skills. At GUST 50, she will certainly make sure everything goes to plan.
Sponsorship Coordinator
Esther recently graduated with an English Literature and Theatre Studies degree. With a flair for creativity and ‘thinking outside of the box’, Esther currently works towards writing and producing theatre.
Sponsorship Coordinator
Controller of GUST in 2012/13, Lisa knows how to fundraise, doubling the annual budget within six months of office. Leading the station through one of its best years in recent history, she was in charge when the station won Highly Commended Best Broadcaster at NaSTA.
Publicity Coordinator
Anna moved to Glasgow from the U.S. to complete a postgraduate degree in Media Management. She first got involved with GUST after pitying the state of our technical equipment. Today, she lovingly cares for the U-Matic players, just as she does for our Facebook page.
Publicity Coordinator
Patricija is a photographer and blogger at heart. Previously our social convener, she has proven the organising and fundraising skills needed in her role as publicity coordinator for GUST 50.
Webmaster
Former Technical Coordinator, Kristian has been in GUST for four years now. He already re-designed the GUST website (twice), and now works his magic on the GUST 50 project’s online presence, too.
Events Coordinator
Anna GG fast became a face of GUST, presenting everything from news to our music show The Beat. A seasoned soirée girl, Anna goes crazy for all things party (especially balloons).
Lead Archivist
On exchange from Boston, MA, Arielle is studying English Literature at Glasgow. Having worked in library archives before, she has the experience needed to plan archiving nearly 40 years worth of GUST footage. She’s built a great archiving team who will continue the work as she returns to the States.
Events Technical Coordinator
An aeronautic engineer by degree and camera trainee at heart, Arif has been the soul of GUST’s technical team during his four years at university, often putting GUST before his reports. He is in charge of all technical aspects of the GUST 50 events.
(Formerly) Project Director
Former Controller and Head of Programmes, Bobby has been involved in GUST for nearly six years. After completing his postgraduate diploma in Journalism at Strathclyde, he has since moved on to work for the Evening Telegraph in Dundee.
Taking the helm of GUST for the upcoming academic year, GUST’s 50th, controller Sarah Battensby, heads of programming Jonny Little and Matthew O’Donnell, and technical coordinator Oscar Schäfer, will deal with the day to day running of the station, and of course support the GUST 50 Team in any way they can.
Throughout the 2013/14 academic year (and beyond), Controller Alicja Tokarska, Heads of Programming Madeleine McGirk and Cairan McLaggan, and Technical coordinator Arif Nadeem paved the way for getting the GUST 50 project off the ground. They continue to provide help and advice to the team.
